The plate beer filter - Cardboard fine filter

The cardboard fine filter is mainly used for fine filtration. The higher accuracy of the filter, the smaller flow capacity of the beer filter.

In order to improve the filtration capacity, a coarse filtration with diatomite should be done in advance for removing the bigger particles and yeast in beer. Absolutely a double stage cardboard filter is also acceptable, the first stage filter with bigger filtering holes; the second stage using the cardboard with smaller filtering holes as fine filter. But the price of cardboard is more expensive than diatomite, so mostly of the micro breweries prefer to use diatomite as coarse filtration.

Plate Beer Filter

The plate lifetime of the cardboard generally at 100hl/M2. It could be prolonged with a layer of diatomite being paint on the cardboard in advance.

The operating process as below:
1.Installing the cardboard
2.Removing the air inside of the filter with water
3.Sterilizing the filter with steam or with hot water for 20min, and cool down the temperature to the one same as beer
4.The resistance is keep increasing with the filtering going, the pressure difference better not exceed 0.13Mpa after filtration is finished
5.During filtering, counterpressure should be applied appropriately for avoiding the CO2 swelled inside, which would broken the strength of cardboard
6.Anti flushing the filter with hot water at 50-60℃ after the filtration is finished. If with diatomite being paint on the cardboard in advance, please start up firstly and discharge the diatomite and then turn off and start cleaning.
7.The cardboard could be used after sterilized with 80~90℃ hot water for 15~25min.
