What will cause a low pressure under the secondary fermentation? & how to solve it ?

The tank pressure is an important technical date during the secondary fermentation maturation time, that would directly influenced the CO2 content in the beer, it with a closely relationship with the beer foam and mouth feel. Generally the tank pressure could reach about 0.04~0.05Mpa in 3 days after we sealed the tank; and could reach about 0.05-0.08Mpa in 5 days. But if the pressure less than 0.03Mpa after we sealed the tank, the beer flavor will be highly influenced if we do not take some actions..

There are mainly these reasons as below that would cause a low pressure:
1.There may be some leakage on the tank body, valves or piping connectors.
2.Too much CO2 lost because of a late tank sealing
3.Too less sugar left in the beer caused by unsuitable temperature
4.The main fermentation is not strong enough, no enough yeast in the beer, less than (3~5)x106 cfu/ml.
5.No enough beer in the secondary fermenter, too much space left on top.


And we can do some actions as blow:
Checking the tank body and relevant accessories and avoid the leakage; if it is not convenient to fix it, it is better to transfer the beer to another fermenter and add about 5~10% high foaming beer; if there are not enough yeast in the high -sugar beer, please add some fresh strong yeast; If the beer has already reached its required age and the pressure above 0.03mpa, it is available to filtered the beer with the ones under higher pressure.
