When the beer finish fermenting, some breweries will use filter to get brilliant beer. The filter method mainly have:
1) Pulp filter
2) Kieselguhr filter
3) Plate frame filter
4) Twin flow filter
5) Cross flow filter
6) Membrane Filter

Here we mainly learn Cross-flow filter together, one successful point is the filter don’t rely on filter aid further and finish filtering by one time. It is not necessary to recycle the beer from yeast and make filtered beer reach sterilize situation. Also it don’t need pasteurization.

The traditional filter technology is static, while cross flow is dynamic. In the process of cross-flow filter, the beer can not flow through filter membrane horizontally just like still filtration. One reason is the membrane will clock with short time, second reason is the membrane will broken due to pressure difference, so the beer will parallel flow with membrane and flushing continuously. There only have less sediment stay at the membrane, thus reach the purpose to intercept particles and clarify the beer. This method called cross-flow filtration system.

There have only have few clarify beer flow through membrane and filtered. Due to residual liquid still have large amounts of liquid need to be filtrate, the turbid sediment must go circulation. Accompany filter process, the surface of membrane will clock slowly, now we have to stop filtration. Firstly we need to clean it with water, then clean it with hot HON3 or Caustic liquid.
