To start a brewery, we need to know what is basic components that brewery need, so we can brew tasty beer and enter into market. Brewing a good batch of beer takes a lot of work – especially when being done for the masses.
Whether you’re starting from scratch and learning how to make beer for the first time, or moving your home-brewing masterpiece to a new craft brewery, opening a brewhouse of your own means that you’re going to need a lot of help.
The Essential components of Brewery Equipment
Below are brewery equipment that are vital when starting your own brewery. It includes information on what each piece of equipment is, does, and why it’s so valuable for your craft brewery.
1. Malt Miller
The first step in the brewing process is milling your grains.
A malt miller is used to crush grains in order to prepare them for the following steps. Crushed grains are vital for brewing, as finer grains make for more efficient mashing, which allows for more sugars to be extracted from the wort during fermentation.
2. Brewhouse Systems
The brewhouse combination can be various different according to real brewing demands. Basically it includes mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpool, wort cooling. The wort cooling process will be finished in heat exchanger, after wort be cooled to fermentation temperature, it will be into fermentation tank.
3. Fermenters
Fermentation is one of the most important processes when creating beer. Why?
It’s where the yeast transforms the sugar in the wort (the heated combination of grains, malts, and hops that create beer) to ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide gas, giving beer it’s two most favored components: alcohol content and carbonation!
In most breweries, the fermenters are cylindrical conical and 60°cone. According to real brewing demands, it can be customized as well.
4. Glycol Cooling System
Glycol system is the cooling energy supply for hot wort and fermentation tanks cooling.
For a complete glycol cooling system, it includes glycol chillers, glycol water tank, cold water tank, glycol piping etc. The glycol water will circulate back to glycol water tank. The raised cold water will recycle back to hot water tank for next batch brewing, tanks cleaning etc.
5. Control System
The control system also is critical important parts in a brewery. It can realize the control for pump, motor, temperature, just like human brain. So the electrical components have to be branded and reliable, so we can assure the brewing process goes smoothly without delay.
6. CIP system
Sanity level in a brewery is critical import, so it is necessary to have an independent system to clean the brewhouse tanks, fermentation tanks. The CIP system normally has two tanks, caustic and acid tank. According to real demands, a hot water tank, sterile tank also can be added.
Except that, we also need to know the beer package etc, for example bottling, kegging, or canning. The rated filling machine is needed as well.
If you have the plan to build your brewery, I am at your disposal.
