The roughness requirements on beer brewery equipment tanks

Most of the nowadays beer brewery equipment are made by food grade stainless steel. As we know the smoothness inside of the tank is very important for beer brewing, which mostly shows by Roughness.


 
Especially the bottom of the tank and discharge arm, for better avoding bacteria survived, the roughness must be smaller. Generally the roughness of the welding line must to reach 0.4-0.5um after polishing.
 
The diameter of the yeast at about 6-10um, it cannot hide on surface of the brewery equipment. But for bacteria, its size is only 0.7-4um, it may survived inside of the welding line if we cannot make it smoothly, then the beer may be polluted.
 
So the polishing is very important during the manufacturing of beer brewing equipment. We Tiantai generally adopted acid pickling and passivation which will remove the welding oxygen firstly and then form a protection layer on the tank surface. The accuracy of the tank will reach 0.2-0.4um
