We all know that chillers are one of our the most important part in a beer brewery equipment. Our standard Kansa Chillers have alarms for various reasons to indicate potential issues or malfunctions in the glycol cooling system. These alarms are designed to alert operators or maintenance personnel to take corrective actions and prevent further damage or system failure. Recently, one of our client’s chiller met water flow alarm during brewing after being used several years. Today we wanna make some clarifications on this to ensure a smoothly working of your brewery equipment.

Here are a few possible explanations:
1. To ensure the glycol rate is still meet requirement, I mean if glycol rate is low after being used a long time, there may be freeze and cause alarm; You can pick some sample from your GWT and put it into fridge to see if it would freeze or not;
2. On the glycol inlet of chiller, there is copper Y filter, please help to check if the filter element is clogged or not;
3. Press the 3rd yellow button on the contract, the one on right side i think, this one is for water pump inside chiller, to see if water pump could run smoothly;
4. If all of the above 3 without problem, then check the water flow switch of the chiller. You can disconnect the control wire from control unit, and connect those two controlling points on control unit to see if the chiller could work smoothly without alarm, if yes, the water flow switch may got problem and need to change a new one;

It's important to consult the chiller's user manual or contact a professional technician to diagnose and address the specific issue with your chiller. They will be able to provide you with the most accurate assessment and guide you through the necessary steps to resolve the problem.

It's important to investigate and address chiller alarms promptly to prevent further damage, optimize energy efficiency, and ensure the longevity of your beer brewery equipment. Consulting the chiller's documentation or involving a professional technician will help identify the specific cause of the alarms and guide you in resolving the underlying issues.
