Today, the containers made of carbon steel or with other protection layers has gradually become obsolete. Firstly, the influence of chloride to the stainless steel equipment.
The chloride has a certain effect(corrosion) on stainless steel materials, mostly are pitting corrosion, such as the small holes near the welding line. Generally there will be a strong but thin layer on the tank surface after passvition. But the chloride ion is really its enemy..

Secondly, the influence of acid to the stainless steel beer equipment
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel has some limitations. Generally the austenitic stainless steel has good corrosion resistance on organic acids such as nitric acid and phosphoric acid. But it cannot be hydrochloric acid and vitriol !
