Matters need attention about heat exchanger in your beer brewery equipment

The plate heat exchanger is a necessary item in beer brewery equipment, generally belonging to the brewhouse system, and its function is similar to the spiral tube in home beer brewing equipment.
Plate heat exchangers are ideal device for liquid-liquid heat exchange. High heat exchange efficiency, small heat loss, compact structure, small footprint, easy installation and cleaning, wide application, long service life, the main types are frame type (removable) and brazing type (non-removable) two categories. Detachable BR frame heat exchangers are widely used in commercial beer brewery equipment.
The following items should be paid attention to during the use of the heat exchanger:
Regarding the wort whirlpooling process, the recommended process is: using the wort pump to whirlpool 10 minutes, let it stand for 30 minutes, remove all the hops and hot trub, and then transfer wort to boil kettle.
Regarding the wort into the boil kettle: it is recommended to open the wort valve, glycol water valve, tap water valve, wort pump, and glycol water pump in sequence. The biggest advantage of this operation is to prevent the wort in the heat exchanger from freezing in an instant, which will cause the flow channel of the heat exchanger to be blocked;
Regarding heat exchanger cleaning: After the wort is pumped into boil kettle, better to clean the heat exchanger as soon as possible. The cleaning steps are forward flushing and backflushing several times until all the wort in the heat exchanger is flushed out. Positive flushing is flushing along the flow direction of wort, and back flushing is flushing against the flow direction of wort. Tap water can be used for cleaning. Of course, it is better to use hot water not less than 80 celsius.
After doing the above steps, basically our heat exchanger will not be blocked.
