The measures for lautering difficulty

Generally there are two measures we can do when the wort lautering met some difficulties: Pushed water from bottom or “Braised” the grain bed. The detailed operations as below:

1.Pushed water from bottom
Closed the wort outlet valve, and pushed hot water from tank bottom, the temperature better at 78℃, the water goes into the lauter tun through the anti flush piping. When the water level is 10~15cm exceed the grain bed, now the grain bed has already been loosen. Then turned on the wort outlet valve and form the re-circulation.

2.“Braised” the grain bed
Turning off the wort outlet valve, lifting the grain rake to bottom and do sparging when the grain rake running. And stop the rake working when the water level exceed 10-15cm of grain bed. Turning on the valve after 3~5 min standing.
