How to get the first wort in brewing process?
The filtration time of the first wort is generally 75~105min.When the reflux wort is clear and the reflux is over, open the valve that enters the boiling kettle or the wort temporary storage tank to allow the wort to enter. In order to maintain the looseness of the spent grains layer, the filter pressure difference should be kept as small as possible. When the filter valve is opened, it should not be too fast. It should be controlled at 1/4~1/3 opening at the beginning, and then gradually open the valve according to the brightness of the wort.
During the filtration period, the rake can be started to plough the slag to loosen the filter layer and improve the filtration speed. However, the rotation speed of the rake should be slow, 1/5~1/3r/min is appropriate. The height of th erake can be adjusted up and down, but the minimum distance from the false bottom plate is 3~5cm, do not put it too low, so as not to scratch the false bottom plate by the grain rake
When filtering for 25~30min, measure the concentration of the first wort to determine the amount of water to be added. In order to ensure the wort concentration after filtration, the first wort concentration must be higher than the wort concentration to be fermented, about 40% to 80% higher. For example, to produce 12°P beer, the first wort concentration must be 16~20°P
