Single phase power for beer brewing equipment
A few customers asked us if we can supply the beer brewing equipment with single phase power.
Our answer is: We normally always recommend 3-phase power, as the pump/motors has good work performance and efficiency than 3 phase power. But if we have to use the 1 phase power for beer brewing equipment, then our tips are below:
①Firstly, the single-phase power only fits electric items with smaller power. We recommend the power below 1.5kw.
So if the power is higher, we recommend to decrease the working capacity, for example, we can choose smaller pump, motor.
② Since the VFD has the ability to accept the single phase power but output the 3 phase power--it can transfer the single phase power to 3 phase power.
So for the wort pumps, rake/agitator motors, they all have the VFD controllers already in our standard proposal, so we can still keep those pump& motors as 3 phase power as the VFD will change the 1 phase power to 3 phase power for them.
③For the motor with a little bigger power such as 2.2kw, then we advice to add VFD controller for them too although a VFD is not necessary for them. The cost for adding a VFD might be much smaller then the cost for adding a converter.
