We are pleased to announce the successful installation of a 2500L whisky distillery in the United Kingdom. Designed specifically for malt whisky production, this distillery system combines efficient material handling, intelligent automation, and future-ready expansion, fully meeting the operational and quality requirements of the UK whisky industry.
Automated Malt Handling system with Pipe Chain Conveyor
The system is equipped with a pipe chain conveying system for malt transfer, providing a closed, dust-controlled, and gentle conveying solution. This ensures clean handling of malt while minimizing material loss and oxidation. The conveyor feeds directly into a dedicated grist hopper mounted on top of the mash tun, enabling accurate and consistent mashing-in operations.
PLC-Controlled Brewhouse with Pneumatic Valves
The mashing process is fully managed by a PLC-based automatic control system combined with pneumatic valve automation. Key process steps, including auto water mixing, auto wort cooling, mashing temperature control, transfer sequencing, and wort discharge etc are precisely controlled, ensuring repeatability, reduced labor requirements, and improved operational safety.

Optimized Mashing & Wort Separation Configuration
The core process configuration includes:
Mash Tun with agitator and grist hopper on top
Filter Press for efficient wort clarification and high extract recovery
Wort Buffer Tank for temporary wort storage prior to fermentation
Each vessel is equipped with its own dedicated process pump, allowing stable and independent liquid transfer. All pumps feature empty liquid level sensor, which greatly avoid pumps working without material.
Shared Operating Platform & Compact Layout
To maximize space efficiency, the brewhouse and mash filter share a common operating platform, providing safe and convenient access for operation, inspection, and maintenance. This integrated layout improves workflow efficiency while maintaining a clean and organized distillery environment.
Wort Transfer & Fermentation CIP Integration
The wort pipeline is routed directly from the wort holding tank to the fermentation area, ensuring hygienic and efficient transfer. A dedicated pipe board (manifold system) is installed for wort transfer and CIP cleaning, allowing standardized and effective cleaning of all fermenters from a centralized connection point.
Fermentation Area with Expansion Provision
All fermentation tanks are configured with operating platforms for safe daily operation and monitoring. In addition, the system design reserves space and process connections for three additional fermentation tanks, enabling future capacity expansion without disrupting existing production.
